I’ve been writing to amuse, inform, and motivate since age 7. Words make the best toys and tools.
I grew up in Greensboro, North Carolina, and graduated from Davidson College and UNC-Greensboro – so have a BA and MEd in English. I’ve worked as an English teacher and writing tutor and volunteered for many years in non-profit leadership positions, especially with the excellent North Carolina PTA. I also helped launch the Guilford Parent Academy for the Guilford County School System. I’ve edited more than 15 school or local newspapers and written columns for the Greensboro News and Record.
Researching and editing newsletters for the medical non-profit Lighthouse Lymphedema Network in Georgia has been a terrific learning experience. I’ve used this information to manage my own Stage One lymphedema after breast cancer treatment, and also help others find diagnosis and treatment.
Freshmints – Briggeman College Year One is my first novel and work of fiction. I spent portions of 8 years drafting, editing, and meeting delightful friends in writing groups with this book.
My handsome prince and I have two daughters who inspire me daily. We’ve traveled to many countries and lived in three. We now live and hike near Atlanta, Georgia.
